My bro tried flashing his Sammy drive but ended up erasing the whole thing. Now Im trying to revive it for him since he got the original key but I have no idea how. I figured it would be using JF but the drive freezes my puter. Any help or a tut would be appreciated

Get original FW from internet, then use hex edit inject key, and reflash.

Hello again, I have tried everything to get this thing going and still nothing. I have the orig.bin file and the key for the sammy but I cant get it fixed. I cant do it in windows cuz itll freeze my puter. This is aggravating. Will my puter detect it even though the drive dont open and the only thing the drive does is blink. Should I delete something on my sata card so the puter dont freeze everytime I try to do this. Thx

Use MTKFlash and do it in dos.

The commands are mtkflash w /m /sata orig.bin

I tried that, I used iprep ver .08 or whatever the last version is and the only thing it said was port 170 which thats not even my port for the drive and it just froze there so I hit esc and it said stopped at 50 instead of 70 and thats it. Really is this process that easy and thats why im having such a hard time with it or i so hard that a fool like me will never get it.

If MTKFlash doesn't work, try DosFlash v1.7 (2 files from the DosFlash16 folder) on a bootable jumpdrive + your custom firmware.

It is simple. Once booted to the jump drive, type dosflash.exe
Then select the SATA port your drive is connected to, you will probably have to power cycle (shut on and off within 1 second).
Type W for Write. Type the file name. Example SAM-CFW.bin

Ok i tried the suggestions that i was given. With mtkflash I get nowhere it aims for my pc burner instead of my sammy. I tried dosflash and it let me check out my sata port but it tells me that the firmware is not valid. Maybe Im missing something but Im close I can feel it.

Try renaming the firmware to something short like samcfw.bin.

What did you end up doing that got the flash to take? Glad you got it working again! :)

Man I have no idea I did the same thing you guys told me with the Orig.bin file. I think since I had 2 Orig files, 1 a spoof for a BenQ and the original I was using the wrong one. Thats my guess Im not sure but I conquered this beast.

If your computer is still having problems freezing with JF, go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and remove "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys. Then reboot the PC. I am assume you are using the VIA card because of the freezing issue.
