I am about to buy an Xbox360 that may have a Lite-on drive. I already modded a 360 with a Benq but never a Lite-on. If I do have a lite-on, which one of the key extractors here: http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/xbox-360/ do I buy (least expensive)? All I need to do is extract the Lite-on keys, nothing else.

I would recommend the Maximus USBXtractor.

It's a thing of beauty, and unbelievably easy (and fun) to use!

I would get it, it makes life easier.
You won't regret it, though you don't NEED it.

What do you use if you do not buy it?

Then you would have to use the xbox to power it, which is a pain in the butt.

I have had good luck with the CK3. Maximus and CK3 are good quality so you really can't go wrong with either.

CK3-Lite with the Probe. I have a CK3 Pro myself, but during that time the Ck3-Lite was sold out, I didn't feel like waiting so I paid the extra and got the Pro. There is really no difference in the Lite and pro model, so I would just go with the cheapest one, which would be the Lite.

You might be thinking, well the USB Xtractor is cheaper, and if I wanted a kit I could get the 360Xtractor Pro with the Spear, that is much cheaper than the CK3! Trust me, get the CK3, you will love it!

I use the Maximus USBXtractor. Works great for me and the one button dumping is really nice. I didn't buy the power dongle and used the xbox to power the drive, which IS a pain but I didn't want to spend the extra money. Even so, dumped and flashed perfect first time around.

Good quality, simple to use, and hey, if nothing else, comes with a good long USB cable, :-).

IM still new to flashing 360's, but I noticed my budy who flashed mine used the ck but NO prob, and just uses Jungle flasher, he lives to far for me to go over and just ask him to learn .
So, I'm asking which is the easy-est way to flash for some one like me, new to flashing, but IM hoping to be able to flash ALL drives not just Liteon(you can forget Hitatchi I wont even bother with those)

I read a little info on the ck3 website, seems simple, pro seemed it had more then the light, but Do I still need the probe?
And how easyier is the usb maximus method?

Is CK3 jsut for Lite on? or can it do samsung & benq also?
Id like to be able to flash my own drive and close friends drives rather then driving everyeime a budy wants a flashed 360, thnx!

The CK3 connectivity kit can power any 360 DVD drive. The probe is only needed for the Lite-ON. Since you have since the probe being used, you should be able to pick up on it pretty easily. Go to http://www.jungleflasher.net or click the tutorial linked in my signature. That should get you started.

Not sure if the ck3 has changed but the xtractor pro has USB and serial. Most new motherboards don't have serial so this is nice.

Yeah been reading the tuts last night, seemd simple,
Last question, in your opinion(wich I did not read much about or into yet) Is it easy to reflash to Original firmware when upgrading or placing back to stcok? Thats what im worried about, not bricking it.

So your recomending ck3 pro im assuming?

I recommend the xtractor pro over the ck3 just because it has usb (unless ck3 has updated). But yes, makes like much easier when flashing.

Lite-On and BenQ= Extremely hard to brick

Any drive can be flashed back to original the same way you flash to iExtreme.

Hitachi's aren't bad to flash, and if you have the ck3 or xtractor then they are even easier. I wouldn't count out any drive, if you are charging, every one of them will make you money.

The only thing about Hitachi's is they have a higher risk of bricking, but I've done many of them and not a single brick yet,*knocks on wood*.

The CK3 Pro does support USB, the Lite does not(that I know of anyway). $62.90 on modchipcentral.com with probe

The Xtractor Pro supports USB also. $44.90 on modchipcentral.com with spear.

Cool info, much apreciated.
So of the 2 options, which would you recomend? $ is not an issue, this is not for making money either, this is more so If I need to update I dont need to find someone, and if a close freind decideds to jump in the 360 realm he can come to me to flash it.

I have heard good things about both and have used both( I know a few people that have them, I don't but I have used theirs). They all work good.

With the Xtractor you get a circuit breaker that if you accidentally short something it reduces the risk of frying the drive.

With CK3 you get a free HDD adapter cable.

Either one is worth its money. Just go for what looks best to you, as its obvious opinions on here are split between the two.
