I finally got my chipped Japanese Wii Wi-Fi to work and I updated my system to 4.0J throught the nintendo updates.

I have burned punch out and did wii blocker and region changer. I can see the title screen but I get a black screen when I try to start the game. My older games work fine i.e. Tiger woods 9...

I know other people have had this or similiar problems and I have been reading but still I am unsure what I need to do.

Please help.

Jake

Thread title renamed from "utterly confused", a title as bad as "Please Help". In future please see here about thread titles ~ http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/440385

One of the downsides to lazy thread titles is that most people ignore them. Now it's got a decent title it has more chance of attracting help.

Maybe instead of the smart comments you could search the forums ie help yourself whilst awaiting an answer.

More then likely it is a region compatibility issue.

If you google this topic you would get allot of hits from users that have this issue when trying PAL or NTSC-U Punch Out! on a NTSC-J system.

So more then likely there is no way around it.

You could always try region changing your system from NTSC-J to NTSC-U with region changer.

I will try it but I have never had a problem before playing american games. I also used region changer and changed the game to ntsc-J.

I was under the impression also that when you chip your wii it will play other regions.

Could it be possible that I need to update my chip and also get a brand new japanese game and see if it needs to install anything else?

Not all Imports are compatible. So there is a handful that will not work.
