Ok so I had my wii all setup and I kept getting a 1035 error or whatever when trying to patch the IOS35. Anyway I read a guide that said format the wii data so I did. When I did that it booted to pre loader (even though I had it set to boot to system menu) Anyway I tried to boot to system menu and I get the black screen with white writing. Tried to boot to the HBC and it says that its not installed.

Any way I can get past this and either reinstall the HBC so it will boot correctly or do I have to go a different route? I tried the downgrader and the wad manager but both throw code dumps. Anyone else have this issue and figured it out? I am on 4.0U

if your able to get hbc and wad manager running like Valedion said, then there is a good guide on how to do everything he suggested in the thread i posted

which i suggest you do, if you skip steps installing systemmenus can be dangerous

Try going to settings in Preloader and set the System Menu IOS to something other then IOS60 (you might have to try a few of the IOS to find 1 that will work. I would start with IOS35 or IOS36). After saving the settings press B and then try going to the System Menu.

If the System menu now loads then use BootMii to install the Homebrew Channel. You do not have to install DVDx or BootMii all you have to do is install the Homebrew Channel 1.0.3 from the list.

If the Homebrew Channel installs then turn off your Wii system.

Boot into Preloader and run the Homebrew Channel and then reinstall Preloader .29 again. Then check the Preloader settings and make sure it is set to IOS60 and try booting the system menu to see if it comes up properly now.

Ok well I figured it out. I loaded up boot mii from the HBC website and installed HBC. Fixed the problem.

Now back to my existing problem of trying to get the ret 1035 error to go away when trying to install cios v7 into IOS35 or whatever it is. I just downgraded to systemmenu 289 and v3.2U and did a whole guide on that but no luck on that. Not sure what is causing it...

I also checked my serial number and my number doesnt start with LU64 its more like LU55

Try downloading this file HERE.

Extract it and place it in the apps folder on your SD Card.

Now run Homebrew Channel and choose the cIOS38_rev12 installer.

Make sure you choose Network install (not wad install).

See if this installs the cIOS.
