Can only get starview firmware on the box HELP!!!!

hi there im new to this forum and just wondering if someone could help me,i have been trying to get the box firmware on my box but is not working. the only firmware i can put on it is starview can anyone tell me where im going wrong?? thanks

you need to say what box you have ie starview 1,2,3 or 4.

its a starview 2 ive looked on a few forums some people say you have to do it a certain way the firmware i have is STARVIEW API:4.00e_E BOOT VER 7.0 7 JUNE 2007 thanks for any advice.

Does it say 'THE Box' on the front of it?
Why is the starview firmware loaded onto it?

Here is the larest firmware &loader THE BOX LATEST you will need winrar to extract it.

hi there again i was on the link there it has said something about vents on the top mine has so many vents there isnt any amount on the list to be on mine its like 20x8 20 in a row and 8 across thanks

hi i just flashed that on to my box it turns on fine its just that it only comes up the box and then it just froze nothing else happening

hi thanks for that but still absolutly nothing just keeps coming up the box on screen and stuck at that last light ive noticed some people talking about the starview 1 firmware working thats exactly whats happening to mine they work but the box doesnt

If you have loaded the firmware on to the BOX and its the correct one, you need to re-flash it again with the correct firmware, connect the BOX using the rs232 cable to your PC, turn the box off, start the loader and count to about 5 secs, then turn the box on at the back with the switch, may take a few attempts but it should flash the box.
Dont load Starview 1 firmware or any other to the box or you will brick it or freeze it, it sounds like you loaded incorrect firmware or it was a bad flash, if the box is freezing with a green dash on the panel, do the above with THE BOX firmware only

Did you do the above??? its a bad flash you have. Do the above with the THE BOX firmware the way I described and you should be back on.

hello mickah ive tried all of the above still nothing tried flashing 4.51 it goes to the last light then i tried the 4.54 that goes past the last light i get ON for a sec then shuts down.this box is doing my head in i dont know what else to do thanks

Hi Bronk0 when i first got the box it had the box software on it yes but it then crashed so i got someone to look at it for me,when they gave me it back it did not come up with the box logo at start which i then noticed no clock and epg thanks
