Hello i have a modded xbox 360, i tried to go online for the first time with my xbox and i get a message saying please update xbox in order for xbox live to work,please advise. should i update it?

well i moved shortly after my original console was banned, so i didnt have to worry about that. now i just have to get a new phone since the feds can track down where im at now since i just posted again.
