I flashed my benq drive to 1.50 about 3 months ago using jungle flasher, and everything has been great. With all the new wave 3 games, I finally decided to flash it current tonight.
A lot of trouble from the beginning. I couldn't use jungle flasher like I had originally, I never could get it to unlock. Finally I saw that once benq was flashed with 1.5, it wouldn't unlock like before, and I used the drive half open method. This time I got 'invalid status 0xf3'. So I finally used iprep, and the half open method, and I got a successful flash.
My xbox boots fine, but all of the backups I had previously no saw 'Reading' for a VERY long time, and then just say 'Play DVD'.
Hook it up to Jungle Flasher again and make sure it is detecting your BenQ drive. Once detected, click Intro/Device ID, and it should go ahead and get the flash chip properties for you. Load your original firmware and let JF autospoof to ix1.6 for you. Go back to MTKFlash and click write.
Edit - If it prompts you after you click Intro/Device ID, click ok and shut the drive off and then back on within 1 second.
Most tutorials aren't going to say ix1.6 but it is no different than ix1.15, ix1.5, ix1.41, ix1.4 and so on.
In Jungle Flasher you simply load your original firmware.
Let JF autospoof for you to ix1.6 or navigate to the file, select it, and then click "spoof source to target".
Go to MTKFlash tab and get your drive in vendor mode.
Click write.
Only Hitachi doesn't have ix1.6 firmware, but it will soon.
