How do I burn a DVD on Nero, if I want the film to start emidietly when I put the disc in the computer?
And how do I loop the movie, if I want it to go round, and round and round?

First off, are you wanting to back up a factory DVD movie or are you wanting to put home movies or something else on DVD?
If you're wanting to back up factory movies, then download DVD Shrink and follow this guide to get you started:

You lost me on that one :)

You can't make your movie go round and round with Nero but you can with IFOEdit! Try it as an experiment!
Re author with Shrink (or TMPGEnc DVD Author if you want a menu to stop the thing!) Title 1 only.
Now, using IFOEdit, if title 1 is your first play (it should be because you are doing the main title only, right?), open VTS_01_0.IFO.
Go to VTS_PGCITI, click on it and then expand it. This shows VTS_PGC_1.
Scroll down to the PGC Command table and right click on Post Command #1 (1. Post Command).
Select "edit command" from the menu and then select "Link PGCN".
Select 1 for your PGC number and that should do it!
Use your Nero to burn the results.
Your movie should play over and over with out stopping.
Cheers,
Frank

OK, i´ll try.
I have the movies in my DV camera so I can easy take them in to Nero but it seems to be impossible to loop them, so I will try again.
I have all the movies in QuickTime format also. Can I from there loop them in Nero?
I´m quite new on PC, used to use Mac but trying to learn...

While in NeroVision Express, from the Create Menu window of NVE, click on the MORE Button at the bottom of the window, and there you will find an option for 'Start Playback with' which will allow you to select the Menu or a Title to begin playback with.
As well as an option for 'When finished playing title' which will allow you to set it to play next title or go back to main menu.
We do not have a loop feature at this time. But I think it would be easy to add an option under 'When finished playing title' for you to set it to play the same title again. That would create your loop. I'll put in a request to add this as a future feature to our NVE software.
Best Regards,
Craig

second stillframe untill it starts again.
How do I to get rid of that? Probebly in
IFOEdit.

Hi again Jennny,
Getting movies to behave differently is the fun part of burning discs! IFOEdit is a bit overwhelming to say the least. I'm glad you were able to make it work!
Did you burn the disc or do you still have it on your computer?

Hi again,
A pause may be the result of the transition is made from the end of the PGC back to the beginning.
This program has a repeat function it has a free demoversion:
http://www.dvd-replica.com/
It may use the same Link PGCN command. If you use this program to author your movie, you can then open it in IFOEdit and see if the post command has changed to Link PGCN 1.
Quality problems can be caused by many things. What is actually wrong?

I've fixed most of the problems. It needs a lots of testing and testing. But the films have to little contrast. Look a bit grey.

My dvd has a title and a menu (i created using Studio8). I saw there are VTS_PGC_1 and VTS_PGC_2. I changed 1. post command in VTS_PGC_2 to (Link_PGCN)Link PGC 2. I used IFOEdit and studio8 to play dvd, the menu is still looping. How can I by pass that? Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Martin

Hi unplug,
Quote: I changed 1. post command in VTS_PGC_2 to (Link_PGCN)Link PGC 2.
I don't know what you actually have, but from what I can tell from this is that you have created a loop in the video title set associated with PGC 2 with the command LinkPGCN 2.
What exactly do you want your video to do? If it has a menu, the menu should loop.
What was the original #1 Post command for PGC 2?

I have a title, a menu, and 4 video clips. I want to stop menu looping.
Org value of post command:
VTS_PGC_1: (CallSS VTSM) Call TitleSet root-menu [Resume Cell: 1]
VTS_PGC_2: (CallSS VTSM) Call TitleSet root-menu [Resume Cell: 1]
Now, which one should I modify? (I think it is VTS_PGC_2) and how should I modify it to stop menu looping? Thank you.
Cheers,
Martin

CallSS links a program chain (PGC) from the title domain (Your Video Title Sets VTS_PGC_1&2), to a PGC in system space. In this case its linking to your Video Title Set Menu.
The only post commands listed here are identical commands from two different title sets that linked back to VTSM.
I don't think this is what is making your menu loop. These CallSS commands look like links from the end of the clips back to the menu.
When your clips end does the menu come up again?
How many buttons does your menu have? One for each clip?
I'm just trying to get an idea of your project's structure and layout.
I don't have your project to look at so this is just a bunch of guesswork.
I think you need to go back into IFOEdit and try to find the VTSM PGC and see if thats where this loop is occurring.
I'll take a look at one of my DVD Lab projects and see what I can figure out, I've got a looping menu I can look at.
DVD Lab projects are really easy to change. A loop is indicated by an arrow that comes out of the left side of the menu and then goes back into the right side. If you want to get rid of the loop, you just remove the arrow.
Let me know if you can find anything else.

Yes, in the end of last video clip, it will jump back to menu, not title. There are 6 buttons on menu, 3 for video clips (3 video clips per page) and 2 for moving to previous/next page.
Do you know where can I find good IFOEdit document or tutorial?
Cheers,
Martin

I think I would change that #2 post command, link PGCN to something else. Thats the command thats making it loop by linking back to the beginning of the language unit program chain.
Now all you need to do is figure out what you want it to do instead of looping.
If you want it to link to the beginning of your VTS you will need a CallSS command and then the correct PGC number.
Something like: (CallSS VTS) PGC_1
You need to fix that so it will work, thats just a rough guess, sorry. The command menu probably has the command in the right format and you just select the PGC destination.
As far as I know, no guide really exsits for IFOEdit. If it did I would have one for sure!! If you happen to find one, let me know.
I go over to doom9 and read a bunch of stuff there. Heres a good place:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=fb9f9969a4e3dffdd06296b1c33fc5c8&threadid=43142
Keep experimenting, use your Play DVD button after you make a change and see if its legal. IFOEdit will tell you if you do something that results in an illegal nav command.
Have Fun,
Frank

I want it jumps to my first video clip in the end of the menu. Under DVD Play, I see 2 titles. Title 1 has one chapter, and title 2 has 4. I tried all CallSS_xxx commands but none of them work. It is much more difficult than I thought. *SIGH*

Hi again,
Just an experiment (if you haven't tried it yet).
Change this: 2.Post Command (LinkPGCN) Link PGC 1
To this: 2.Post Command (LinkPGCN) Link PGC 2
See if that changes anything.
