Hi all, Hope someone can help. I followed the ultimate guide to softmod my wii, Every time i try to play a disc on the backup channel i get a "This disc could not be read please refer to manufactures manual" message. I restored my wii to factory settings and proceded to use the guide again incase i missed anything, The same thing happened again.
The dvd writers i have tried are :lite-on LH-20A1P and TSSTcorp SH-S223F. The discs i,ve been using are Arita 8 x -R which are GO5 die, I,ve tried writing at 2.4x, 3x and 4x with the same results, I have also used nero and Imgburn with the same results. Also when i reset my wii to factory settings i lost my Opera browser how can i get this back on my wii. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi thanks for the response, The guide i used was the one from this forum ( The newest one) also i have managed to instal opera browser and also folloewd the guide from this forum to allow the playing of backups from the disc channel, which has kind of worked i get the game displayed in the disc channel but whe i run it i get a message saying an error has occured please eject the disc and turn off your console, I also get a can not read disc message when i use the backup channel, Imgburn says the disc is Ritek GO5. hope this helps
Thanks for the heads up. Will try the media you suggested, Its a shame about the aritas i,ve used them as my favourite dvd media for a few years now but never used them for wii games although they did work on the old xbox lol :)
