Connecting hard drive in usb loader

Hi,

I have a WD 250gb laptop drive that I threw in an external case to try and use with usb loader. When I run the usb loader, it is unable to find my hard drive if it is plugged into the wii before starting the channel. If I reconnect the usb cable while it is search for the drive, it is able to find it. It's very annoying to have to keep unplugging cables and I don't want to wear my connections down, am I doing something wrong here?

Any advice is appreciated.

always use the latest revision of usb loader GX

always plug it into the same port (port 1)

I used to have that problem, updating to the latest version of usb loader gx fixed it for me.
