I haven't been to this site in a while. I tried playing NFS undercover (backup)(NTSC) on my modded wii but the it says to play this software you need a system update, I have not updated my console since version 6. so what do you suggest?
I have no trouble playing other (older)backups like quantum of solace.

Do you have a softmod or hardmod?

If it is a hardmod then see if it has a config disc that you can use to disable game updates.

if it is a softmod then update it to block updates.

Its one of those clip-ons. maybe 6 months old. I got 2 questions:
1)Is there a program that I can run on the iso files to disable updates?

2) where/how can I obtain that disk you told me about?

Thanks

If the game is the same region as your system then just update.

If it is an out of region game disc then use iiBrickBlocker to block the update.

yes its USA NTSC, but will updating the wii interfere with some of my other games which are PAL and out of region?
and from what I remember everybody on this forum used to say, stay away from updating your wii.

Thank you for your quick responses

If your system is NTSC and your game is NTSC. You are safe to update.

But won't that affect HBC?

No, it shouldn't. Some people, including myself, had a problem with the HBC after updating to 4.0, but that is easily fixed using bannerbomb. After that everything should be fine.

I don't even know if the update will bring you to 4.0 or not though.

Thanks!
1 more question, Do I have to update to 4.0? or there's some kinda software out there that I can use to patch the update so that it won't ask for an update anymore.
btw I used wiibrickblocker it didn't ask for an update and it took me to the title screen but after I hit start game, the screen went black.
what can I do?

My system is 3.3U and I have a D2SUN
Thanks

Honestly I can't say for sure. As long as you do it correctly, updating to 4.0 won't have any negative effects, so it's worth trying. Go here for more information on updating it
