hi folks,

i had my wii modded with a d2pro chip but decided to remove it so i could update my wii to v4.0.

chip removal and update went fine.

i softmodded using homebrew channel and now my wii wont play some games that used to work with the d2pro.

is this a common problem?
does anyone know how to solve this?

Why in the world would you take out your Modchip so you could update to 4.0 firmware?

Your d2Pro would work perfectly fine on 4.0 firmware.

A softmod is not 100% compatible with all games.

What games are you having issues with?

i read somewhere that its not wise to update the wii system with a mod chip installed and that if i wanted to play more modern games with motion plus i would need 4.0.

also i wanted to install usb loader to save on buying discs all the time

games ive tried that wont work include
guitar hero world tour
boom blox
bully

I would put the Modchip back in.

You will have better compatibility with a Modchip and it will also run the games at 6X.

You can also still use a USB Loader with the Modchip installed.

What softmod guide did you use?

I would stop going to the place you read that updating with a modchip is not wise. Because they are full of S*#T.

i got the guide from a torrent site i use,

is it possible to undo the softmod or shud i just put the mod chip back in with the system the way it is?

another reason i took the mod chip out is that sometimes the drive wudnt spin and i had to restart the system a crap load b4 it wud spin
