I'll be getting my bricked Wii back from Nintendo soon. (It didn't brick from hacks, I know what I'm doing). I will be using Bannerbomb to safely install the HBC and DVDX on my most likely (to be) repaired 4.0 Wii. Is there any way to install/remove WADs on a clean Wii 4.0? Would be preferred if I could have the most up to date app of WAD Manager and not have to downgrade firmware or install risky things.
Wads can be installed on 4.0
But if you are going to install a wad of cIOS then you are going to have to downgrade IOS35 or you will likely get the -2011 error.
It isn't 4.0 itself that prevents the installation of cIOS in Wad Manager. It is the IOSes that have had the trucha bug removed. 4.0 just happens to have the whole assortment of IOSes without the trucha bug.
It isn't downgrading firmware but I don't know if you consider downgrading an IOS risky.
Should I do all of this within the HBC? Or should I do it with LoadMii/Bannerbomb? Also, is there any problems with installing DVDX and then using the "comex's dvdx" to downgrade IOS35. Will this cause any problems for future Nintendo updates, games, system features, or downgrade the firmware?
Try using This, it worked for me, hopefully it does the same for you. It is an app that works from withing the HBC, simply load it, select the WADs (from the wad folder) then click '+' and install. For some reason this is the only WAD manager that worked for me.
