So I had my ms25 drive spoofed to an ms28 with ixtreme 1.5, decided I was gonna update to 1.6...

So I went straight to fsam... without entering serial first. The usb stick didn't boot right and I went to command prompt instead of regular text menu with dsam and fsam options.

So I've fsam'd my drive without entering a serial. Now I can't seem to get 1.6 firmware back on. Can't seem to get iprep to take my original ms25 backup so I can start from scratch again either.

What can I use to get the original ms25 firmware back onto the drive, then update to 1.6? I have some third wave games that I'm dying to play.

Delete everything off the flash drive and complete get rid of iPrep. Put DosFlash v1.7 (Dosflash16 folder is for DOS). It has 2 files, dosflash.exe and dosflash.typ. Put those 2 on your jump drive + your custom firmware. Boot to that and you will be able to fix your drive.

Okay, I just got done doing it the hard way with iprep. Would have tried dosflash had I read about it sooner.

Fixed the drive by putting original backup ms25 firmware folder from iprep into the backup folder on my usb stick.

Then I flashed the 1.5 firmware to the drive, tested it, and it worked. Yay.

So I redid the same thing, this time loading up the 1.6 firmware. It didn't seem to take. I'm gonna start a new thread on getting it to take 1.6.

Strange that putting the backup in there fixed my problem.
