i have flashed a couple of drives b4 but i dont know what i have done this time. i dont think i power cicled it for long enough using iprep it didnt work so i did it again and this time it said it was complete but when i tried it an e6* still came up i dont have orig.bin but i have a note of the drive key can this be fixed please help

Do you have any other firmware with that key in it? Other wise you are going to need get MS25 firmware or ix1.6 firmware and edit your key in and then try to reflash. If you have any firmware with the key on it, take it off of the flash drive and then erase everything off and put DosFlash v1.7 on it (DosFlash16 folder is for booting to dos). That should be able to get your drive going again.

i have found samcfw.bin and samofw.bin but this is from the 2nd attempt so isnt the real orinal but they should hav the key i think how can i find out

Use Jungle Flasher to open the firmware and check it out. Hold on to copies of those firmwares as they could contain your key.

hi i have checked the files and the 2 are saying that it is ms28 with firmware ixtreme 1.6 and they have the correct dvd key :) what will i need to do now can it be saved

Check my signature. There are 2 RARs that have instructions on how to make a bootable flash drive and how to flash a Samsung through DosFlash. Make sure you have your custom firmware ready to go.

Load your original bin in source.
Load your ix1.6 into target.
Click "spoof source to target".
Save your firmware file.

i dont have the original.bin only got .bin that says its flashed to ixtreme 1.6 and it also says its ms28 drive i have 2 files with this on it it has dvd key of drive to

can i download an original m25 firmware from somewer and put my dvd key in it somehow and use this to restore i just ant to get this done so i can put xbox back together and play online i dont want to go online with my bros he will go nuts if i wer to get him a ban lol and i need to get round to doing the prod repair on a 3rd one i picked up from ebay

You can find original ms25 firmware HERE. Then you can hex edit your key in or use Firmware Toolbox.

thanks alot leerage you guys on this site are the best you really helped me alot on this i will bookmark that site just incase ever need it again so i just open that original in firmware toolbox paste my key in and then save it and start with the flash yae ? gonna get onto it tonight ill let you know how i get on thanks again m8

ok m8 i got it all restored and worked fine on xbox but then when i flash with ixtreme 1.6 and put it back into the xbox i always get this e66 error with 1 red light i have restored a couple of time and every time it works fine on the xbox and every time i flash i get this error i have flashed with dos iprep and now jungle flasher and it happed with them all i have made sure the dvd key is correct and they all say that it has been flashed correctly any ideas to whats going on :(

Is the drive properly spoofed? ix1.6 firmware will report as a ms28. If your XBOX 360 is expecting a ms25 drive, that is probably why you are getting a E66 error.

hmm i understand the drive is chowing as an ms28 this is the problem how do i fix this everytime i flash it shows as ms28 is there another ixtreme thats just for ms25 that i need or summin

I would actually be interested to find this out too. i would have thought the regular ix-sam would work for an ms25

im thinking about just using the drive to make backups of games if its not gonna work it is the samsung drive that can be used for this isn't it what firmware need to be installed do you know ?and hopefully i can get the ixtreme firmware that my xbox will work with to play the games

Open a MS25 bin in Firmware Toolbox and paste your key in and save.

Go to Jungle Flasher Firmware Tool tab and load the MS25 bin you just saved your key into source.

Load ix1.6 for Samsung in target.

Click spoof source to target. Should report SPOOFED AS: MS25

Save firmware file.

Flash custom firmware

thanks alot m8 a got its spoofed ok should have no problems now i got a cpl of games i wonna rip with the drive b4 i put it back in the xbox i got firmware i was told would do the trick ix16_samsung_0800 and that should mean i dont need to burn enable0800.iso to a dvd+r DL disk is this correct and then use a backup program like backup_creator or something
