Modding xBox 360s using VMware

Ok so im curious is it possible to mod an xBox 360 using a virtual machine of Windows XP in VMware 6.0? So far ive gotten everything to work im just stuck on how to get my VIA card working in the virtual machine.

I believe the card will only be recognized by the natively running OS. I don't think there is an option in VMware settings to allow such a thing as a SATA card.

it should be possible as i remember a few mac users saying they got their console flashed by running xp in bootcamp or whatever it is, so i dont know why you couldnt do it with vmware.

With BootCamp it runs WindowsXP/Vista natively on the hard drive VS. VMWare is a virtual operating system so it probably won't be able to detect devices connected to the PCI slot.

No problem. :)

I know some Mac users running WinXP with bootcamp used USB to SATA I think. I'm not for sure on a actual Mac desktop what SATA chipset it would have.

there has to be some pci sata card for a mac that has the via 6421 chipset you would think.

It really dont think it would work but theres always a chance, but its taking a big risk of bricking your drive

wow, thanx for all the input guys. sadly its looking like this wont be possible =/ I've been searching around and i havent been able to find anything on if/how to connect the VIA card to a VM but i havent found saying you cant so i guess ill keep searching and keep you guys updated! Hopefully if i figure out how ill write a tutorial for everyone explaining how to :D
