Please help i have a liteon and i had it flashed with ixtreme 1.5 i wanted to update date it to 1.6 on the process of erasing with Jungle Flasher 1.2 beta my drive got fully erased like the computer wont detect it and it wont open the tray it won't do anything. I have the CK3 Pro. I tryed to erase with the drive with dos32 it says it erased the drive but it still not detected and the drive is supposed to show up as x72 it dosent. I need someone to please walk me through with a really simple tutorial on how to erase the drive completely and to reflash with 1.6 i have all the .bin files. please help.

No worries, you drive is not bricked. If JF froze during erase, you will need to remove the VIA driver at C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers and it is named either "vsmraid.sys" or "viamraid.sys". Once you have done that, reboot the PC and start up JF again. Go ahead and connect your Lite-ON to the same SATA port you were using. Go to MTKFlash and select the SAME SATA port you used before. Power on the CK3 and send the Lite-ON erase. Click OK twice and then power cycle the drive within 1 second. You should be able to get good flash chip properties. At this point you will need to load you dummy bin under the DVDkey tab, and let JF autospoof to ix1.6 for you. Then go to MTKFlash tab and write.

Even the flash chip properties? Does it say MXIC or Winbond/Nex?

You load the dummy bin in source and ix1.6 for Lite-ON in target. Then hit spoof source to target. Go back over to MTKFlash and hit write.

Try sending the Lite-ON erase again. If it does the same thing again. Try a different SATA port.

Hey thanks for everything but it didnt work. I got it to work with iprep super easy. l-o-eras.exe. I want to upgrade to ixtreme 1.6 but with ipre would you happen to know how to do it or something that will show me how to do it i need it. Thanks

You will need to make a bootable jump drive. Put DosFlash version 1.7 on it. There are 2 files inside the DosFlash16 folder. dosflash.exe and dosflash.typ. Put those 2 files on a bootable flash drive and your custom firmware, and a program called l-o-eras.exe. Boot to the flash drive and type l-o-eras.exe XXXX , the XXXX being your SATA port number your Lite-ON is connected to. For instance mine is EC00. Keep doing that until you get status FF72. Once you get that type dosflash.exe. It will list SATA ports and you should see a device that has MXIC or Winbond/Nex. Select that corresponding number. You will then have a couple of options. You will want to type W for write and it will ask you for you custom firmware name. Whatever you bin name is, type that. Example liteon_cfw.bin. It should start writing and you should be done.

Hey i put the two files from Dosflash 16 folder i put ix16 repack (Liteon) and also L-O-Eras.exe but the flash wont show up as bootable. I know hot to run a bootable flash drive but this is not working. Thanks

I have the same problem! Stupidly forgot to remove drivers and it hung on erase. Finally got it to show me status 72 but then it hung on bank 3 when writing. Now jungle will not detect the drive and I can't even get iprep to work - help please?

I like to start fresh when i installed ix1.6 on my lite on with iprep. I reinstalled the whole windows xp. That helped me alot because i had many errors before restarting the windows xp.

I sorted myself out. I certainly wouldn't recommend formatting your pc just flash a drive lol. I just had to use my onboard sata to flash it - simple. Don't think it's a brick just cos it's a bad flash if you have the .dummy it can be saved!
