I have a stock (never modded) samsung drive that I am trying to flash with ixtreme 1.6. I have the jungle flasher tutorial, but it seems to only address flashing to ixtreme 1.51. can someone please explain to me how to get jungle flasher 1.6 and a tutorial for the ixtreme 1.6 on a stock samsung?

no its not ruined,,just have to put it back in vender mode and reflash it again,,make sure your AV is plugged in your xbox so it wont time out again,,but before we carry on i must know,,did you read the firmware first from the drive and save the orig bin file in a folder,,that has the keys for your drive,,and that is very important,,,

For my Samsung, I use iPrep 008.8. You might have to get a new ixDef file but easy to find.

Load iPrep and for the Samsung, browse to the bin file to load it. Set the Sata Controller to whatever you are using (mobo or via card). Com port is not an issue and it only lists one for me anyway. The Target Device should be your usb drive. Make sure both boxes are checked and then click Start. Should say done or finished ect ect.

Turn off PC. You will keep the Samsung drive in the 360 to use it's power but connect a sata cable from whatever controller you are using to the Samsung.

I would highly recommend that you unplug every hard drive and optical drive in your PC to prevent any confusion on which drive is which. Boot to the usb and it should automatically give you info with examples of the commands to use for each drive. Than just follow the instructions, it's that simple. The only thing with a Samsung drive is that you have to power cycle it when it trys to access it.

I would HIGHLY recommend you watch the video below as the guy explains and shows you step by step on how to do it. This method also works for BenQs but you don't need to power cycle them.

I read and saved the ORIG file. I will be trying this later tonight, so I hope it works, but when I tried it last night after the xbox messed up, every time I would turn on my xbox, my computer would freeze and I couldnt open jungle flasher or even move the mouse or do anything. So, when my xbox is on, my computer is completely frozen, so i dont know how I am going to reflash my xbox.

I am trying to use iprep 008.8 and when I click load button for the samsung (source firmware), I navigate to the ixtreme 1.6 folder and pick ix61-samsung. It gives me an error that there is "no valid firmware loaded".

This happens no matter what .bin firmware I seem to choose.

PS. my computer completely freezes and wont do ANYTHING when I have my xbox on.

Ok, first off, don't have your 360 turned on while in windows as iPrep does not need it there.

You need to get the updated ixdef file. Google ixdef 1.6 and you should fine places to download it and replace the current file in the iprep folder. You should then have no issues.

I searched and found it here:
http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49427

I got the file and put it in the iprep folder. however, there is nothing in there already. it is just "iprep v008.8 setup" and "readme"

However, I got the same error again.

You should need no luck, it's that easy! I hope you watched that video to clear up any questions you had! I expect to hear that it worked.

Well I expected the same as you (success).....HOWEVER, it wasnt. I created the boot on my E: which is a 16gb flash stick. That worked fine and sayed done. I closed it all and restarted. I am using vista, so I press F11 at loading and that goes to boot menu. I see the USB flash option to boot from but it just starts up and loads windows. I think it quickly flashed up not found before loading windows, but I cant be for sure and dont know why. I will continue to try to figure this out because like you said...it should be simple.

Honestly, you should unplug all your drives in your PC except for the Samsung so you won't have that issue with Windows loading.

I disconnected all drives (CD/DVD drive, floppy drive, harddrive). All that is left is the USB. It still doesnt seem to boot from the USB. So, I try my USB stick in another computer and it boots off the USB correctly. Now the only problem is that I was using the first computer because it is the only one with SATA connections so that I could hook up the xbox. I have been working on this for over 4 hours now, so I need a break, but thanks for your help and I will return later to try and see what I can do about my computer problem.

Keep the faith! You almost there. You might want to check the PC's bios and see if there is an option in like the boot order to select USB or another such option.

So I tried the other computer that has windows XP on it. I got it to boot from the USB and loaded up fine. when I typed dsam 1234567 12345 it only came up with an option to pick 0,1,2, and 3. 0 was my cd/dvd drive and the other three were "none". HOWEVER, all of the four options were IDE. why is it not showing up with SATA ports?

I tried all options for the hell of it, and it said "no ATAPI devices present on this port"

Also, if i can get this to find my SATA port with the samsung drive, will I want to do dsam 1234567 12345 (for read) or just do fsam 1234567 12345 (for write) since my samsung drive does not have any firmware on there to read?
