I have some WAD files I want to put onto my wii, I am unsure which version I should be downloading and how exactly to use it. Sorry to be so vague but I'd rather be honest that I am clueless to this! I have this modchip if this is any help, D2pro9 v3.
there he is

The actual program Wadmanager, the boot.dol, img.png, and meta.xml should be in in a folder called Wadmanager in the Apps folder of your SD card.
Actual wads should be in a folder called wad in the root of your SD card. Not my wads, not wads, just wad

Installing the Homebrew Channel is not all you need to do if your on a virgin 4.0 system.
A Virgin Oct 23rd 3.3 and above firmware system will have limitations. The Big N has blocked the instilation of cIOS and WAD files. You will need to softmod the system to get around that limitation.
Follow the guide that nuke1105 has linked to in his above post.
You do not have to install HBC.wad since you already have the HBC installed. You do not have to install the Bul3g.wad since you have a Modchip.

Hi, complete noob here with a very similar question. I have tried following what a lot of people have said but am not sure a lot apply to mine so I would like to ask help from some kind soul.
I have a LU59 Wii bought last October, I installed HBC using Twighlight and then had a D2pro chip installed. HBC beta9 IOS36 I then used win's 4.0 update because I found a few discs that were asking me to update and that seemed to clear it up I use WDS to remove updates and that side of the Wii seems perfect.
My question is...how can I install WAD's, wiiware games etc..when I read through it looked dangerous to do it with the 4.0 update.
I don't want to run games from USB although I regularly watch vids thanks to geexbox from usb and sd..I just want to install wad games.
All help pointing me in the right direction is appreciated.

You need Wadmanager http://www.mediafire.com/?scwhmzam1mn
Set up wad manager just like how you would set up any other app in the homebrew channel
You also need to make a folder called wad in the root of your SD card.
This is where you will put your wad.

Well almost. This is how you will be able to install wads. If you want to run VC and Wiiware from the SD card you will need to install the patched IOS60 using WadManager.
Just don't ever uninstall the patched IOS60 wad.
I don't think you will ever need to revert to the unpatched IOS60 but if you for some reason did need to do this then you would install an unpatched IOS60 over the patched one. I'll repeat it again, do not uninstall the patched IOS60 wad.

OK, I used wadmanager 1.4 tried a NTSC U wad got to the read wad OK part and then got a ticket error -2011
Still can't install wads, surely there is something simple I am missing here.
Does this mean I have to downgrade?

You sir, are a superstar. All up and running excellent.
Thank you very much, I am quite savvy with stuff but found searching for info often brought up stuff that was outdated and very complicated, you made this very easy for me. Thanks again.

If you would have read my post and the link nuke1105 gave you then you would have been good to go.
But since you evidently don't read all post it just took you a few extra days to get it done.

I do apologise for not researching them posts further, in my small defense the two posts you refer to were in response to the original question's reply and not made to me.
Even so, I now realise them replies would also have worked for me had I read them thoroughly but as I said..most end up being out of date hence me asking specificly for my own problem.
Thank you all, I know it can be frustrating having the same questions asked over and over, but most Wii's have had different things done to them and I really didn't fancy a brick.

Well there is no defense in highjacking another persons thread either.
But you did.
