So here's the deal, and I will try to be as thorough as I can without sounding like a noob (even though I am).
I am using version 3.4U, HBC, and Back Launcher Channel. As for how they were installed and details, I am not sure as they were done by someone else.
So just recently, I run into multiple problems playing backups, Virtual Tennis 09, Punch Out, Tiger Woods 10, pretty much all the new games I download are a no go. The error is your typical disc error #002.
So I start to get back into the forums, and most solutions suggests installing the new back up launcher using wad manager.
Well my wad manager doesn't work.
I keep getting the Ret = -1 error after running wad manager v1.3 and v1.4, installing the CIOS 36 that came with it. NOthing.
I spent the better part of my Saturday digging in various forums.
Well this morning, I finally find gamma v4 with straight boot.dol that I just dropped in a folder and booted all the new games from there perfectly. I was so unbelievably happy.
However, this still doesn't solve my problem why my wad manager won't work?
Any ideas. I've searched through the forums. The only suggestions people can come up with is try using a different SD, tried it with 3 different brands, formatted with fat 32 and fat16, the naming is correct, wad not wads. I've pretty much tried everything, and I haven't found a solution.
I wish I could just magically have the answer but I really don't know.
The stuff you suggested, trying a different SD card, formatting it, and the correct name for the wad folder is what people are always told to do with the -1 error and it usually works.
But I hope you find your answer.
I'll tell you if I find something.
Edit: I guess you could also try getting your wad manager from somewhere else but I would guess that maybe the SD card is the problem. I'm guessing that you've already tried a regular SanDisk SD card (not SDHC) and made sure that the tab isn't set to lock?
It should still work even if it is set to lock but sometimes you just have to try stuff when nothing seems to be happening.
and it seemed to help. so far, im still working around murky water.. but i've managed to get usb loader installed.. its just that it doesn't load after that..
