hi, i have recently upgraded to 1.6 iextreme, now everytime i go to play a new backup (wave 3) i get a dirty disc error, I don't understand what's going on cuz I'm following all the same steps that i have before and it's not working. The odd thing is that my older back ups are working just not the new ones. I have already made quite a few coasters and just can't seem to get it right. I'm using Img burn, the layer break is set and I'm using verbatim, burning at 2x. if anyone has a cure for me it would be greatly appreciated! thank you!

Try running the .isos through ABGX first.

that error has nothing to do with firmware. Probably dirty lens, did you try cleaning it? Either that or it needs a POT cal or it's simply shot.

if it is playing retails, then it's probably your media. Are you using verbs?

yes sir i am, now yesterday when i ran abgx it was failing on the verify thing, but today it passed, im gonna try to rip it once more. do you think that may have been the problem cuz if it aint the problem i dont know what else to do. I have verbs and the same spindle has worked before, with the older firmware. I just can't wrap my head around whats going on here!

Shouldn't matter if you are ripping your own games. Are you sure you set the layer break right? Use that .dvd file it makes and burn with imgburn

I Flashed a buddy's box the other day which was a brand new, stock Lite-on. I put 1.6 on it and I tried 3 wave 3 games and none of them would boot. I would get either a dirty disc error or just the white xbox logo screen. I tried those exact same discs in my 1.51 benq and they booted up and I was able to play them without issue. Regular wave 2 games worked fine on his box. I erased 1.6 and put 1.51 on his and those 3 previous wave 3 games that would not boot on 1.6, work fine on 1.51 . I checked those 3 games with abgx and they all came up ok....

Just a thought.
Are you using the latest version of ABGX, only the latest couple of releases will support the new Wave 3 games. Download ver 1.0.1

You have a hard drive delay error in that log. I get that sometimes, your prolly using a slow IDE 5600rpm HDD. You need to close all programs you are using, do not even access the internet and then burn it.
Other than that, I would suggest testing known working backup of a wave 3 game to confirm if its the drive or the burn.

Didn't see this bit before. This is a problem too. Might mean fingerprints on the disk or summit as it cant write to that small part of the disk.

Sounds to me like its either your writer or the DVD-DL's. As your using verabims, then its prolly a faulty drive.
