Hey there old time friend of the forums here. Had a question that could only be answered by someone with experience. Well here we go I have been modding along time but travel alot and seeing how I can’t take my pc everywhere I’m in the mind set to make a Modding Laptop. My question is if anyone knows a compatible Laptop Sata Card /pcmcia. I currently use the VIA VT6421A chipset to mod on my pc, but couldn’t find any information on Laptop Sata cards/pcmcias that would recognize Xbox 360 drives. If anyone could help me Id appreciate it. I will continue my research and post up here if I myself am able to find anything for future modders to look up. Thanks

Problem with that link is it's PCMCIA and there are different types so this wouldn't work on all laptops. I thought there was a usb one...

You got your answer? Did you want to share that? They make a adapter that would plug into the wall and then to the molex connection. They are like $10 for the kit.

ok i found a tutorial online on how to make a usb molex adapter

http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17030

now i followed this method and i was successfully able to flash a liteon drive with my ck3 powered by the usb molex convertor.

the only problem i encountered was that i was not able to eject the drive to get the liteon drive into vendor mode with the eject button on the ck3 but i manually opened it and returned it to half way status everything worked fine after that. i was wondering if anyone would have any insight on how i would get the ck3 eject button to work under this method

ok here are the pinout for the usb cable and the molex maybe someone can figure out a way to make this work

Molex

1.yellow= 12v
2.black= ground
3.black= ground
4.red= 5v

Usb 2.0

1.red= 5v vdc
2.white= data -
3.Green= data +
4.black= ground

i figure the problem is that you cant draw the 12v through the usb cable and it is required to make the drive eject
