xbox live with iPhone 3.0

I am trying to connect to xbox live through my iPhone and this is how I wanna do it. Internet tether to my PC through my USB. From there I would like to share my PC's connection through an Ethernet cable to my xbox. I have been trying to do this setup for a while but when I test the connection to xbox live it says it cant obtain the IP and I should reset my device for 30 seconds. I have done this countless times so I know it cant be the problem. This would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I'm no expert, but wouldn't tethering be too slow a connection for LIVE. I tether from time to time with a Sprint HTC Touch Pro, and sometimes an iPhone. FireFox, IE, and Safari all load pages at a semi-decent speed, but seemingly nowhere near the speeds necessary for something as data intensive as LIVE. But I'm no expert.

this really wont work unless you setup your computer to give an IP address to your xbox. but the connection is also going to be slow think of trying to download a Video from youtube on Dial up at 14.4kbps and you will get the idea of the speed regardless of ping time.

after u have ure pc tethered bridge both connections and thats it

I never said it wouldn't work. What I was pondering was if it's viable (speed-wise) once you're connected. Is the connection fast enough to play CoD or Gears?

The video I just watched, the guy said you have to have your iPhone jailbroken and pay 30$ for the full version of PDAnet. It's connections like these that ruin match making for everybody else with legit internet connections.
