Hey I have a bit of a problem with my wii... here's my story :)
So my wii is from overseas, currently running firmware software version thingy 4.0u. Anyways I ordered a wiikey 2 modchip from modsupplier here in australia and now that the modchip is installed, the wii still wont play my backups or originals (from australia). I know the modchip is working and I know the wiikey2 is working. Any advice or help offered would be great thanks as I'm really conused with this one.

Do a softmod, it will allow you to play out of region discs.

Is it possible to update the chip?
If yes: that's your best bet.
Might want to ask the guys who installed it if out of region disks are supported.

The chip is updateable but it already has the latest update on it so I dunno if it is actually updating or not. I installed the chip myself but I know ts working coz it loads the wiikey2 conig disc.

Can you get to the chip's settings? Should be accessible through the DVD/CD you got with it.
Mine was configured not to play out of region titles by default (to avoid out of region updates which will brick your Wii). Maybe yours is too?

I can get to the settings menu, however it is set to allow playing outof region games. The only thing that I can think of is the updatesetting is set to 'Own' country instead of 'none' or 'all'?
