So, I'm extracting a wii game with WinRAR. The file size is 4,699,981,442. The problem I'm having is that WinRAR is taking several hours (like 12) to extract the files. However, as soon as the process starts, it creates an ISO file that says it's 4,699,981,442 bytes according to Windows. So I've been thinking the process was done, then I start burning the disc, only to find that in the background WinRAR is 70% done extracting the ISO.
Anyway to know how I can tell for sure if the ISO is done? It would show 4,699,981,442 bytes even if WinRAR got shut down half way through the extraction and never finished.
It takes 6 hours to burn these ISO files for some reason so it's a big pain the the rear end to wait for a 6 hour burn only to find out the ISO file wasn't complete.
Your having some MAJOR pc problems if it takes hours to extract and burn a game. It takes me about 5 minutes to extract a well compressed ISO and 24 minutes to burn it. What are your system specs?
Haha dude it shouldn't take 6-12 hours to extract and burn the iso... It might be the hard drive crapping out, or it might be the anti-virus software, etc.
Are you extracting just the first file in the archive or all the files in the archive at the same time?
If you Highlight all the files and choose extract then your going to extract the Wii game as many times there are parts.
Make sure your choosing the first file in the archive only to extract. It will then extract the rest automatically making 1 ISO.
Also if your burning while WinRAR is extracting files then it probably will take forever to burn the ISO. I am surprised it doesn't error out on you before the burn is done.
