So, I've run into something I can't explain and, seeing as how it seems to be mainly affecting my wii based files, I thought I'd throw it out here and see what comes back. I've been very successfully using a 2GB SD-Micro in an SD adapter to run all my hacks, homebrew, etc. since February of this year. I just recently got my hands on a 32GB SD Extreme III <YAY!> I've been fighting with this card for 5 days now, and I cannot get the darned thing to work right. I have a USB card reader and I'm trying to take the files from my 2GB card and simply put them onto the 32GB card. The first thing I did was to make sure that both units were clicked into the "unlock" state. I then threw the micro into the usb reader and did "select all", "copy" then, "paste" into a folder on my pc marked "sd". I then used the safely disconnect method to remove the sd reader from my pc. I then reconnected it with the 32GB extreme III card inplace.
I did the same process as above to move the files onto the sd card. When I checked all the folder sizes they were significantly off. I copied the files to it once more selecting to replace any files of the same name. All seemed to go well. Comparing the file sizes again, showed that the second time made them all match up. I then used the safely disconnect feature again. I then placed the card into the wii and went to load up usb loader gx. I got a code dump (first time ever!). I went back to my pc and put the card back in...and it was missing files and some files were apparebtly corrupt. I don't know all that much abbout SD's but this just seems really weird, can anyone tell me why I may be losing information?? I did a fresh format to the 32GB at the beginning of the process, and it went fine. I don't understand why the card is losing data.
