my xbox has beed stuck down with rrod i have done x-clamp fix and baked it for about 30 mins or so. lights went green but not for long what else can i try? ps is thr a risk of getting band from xbox live if you start the xbox up without the drive in ?

you just gotta keep trying matey, it can take lots of tries before you get it right!! Try screws not so tight at first and gradually tighten them!!

thanks i even have the new xbox heat sink that they give you hen they repair it and i have intercooler someone said that there is a penny trick and this stops the board from warping or somthing is that true should i find out how to do it ill it help as well as the what you said ?

Many people do have good results with the penny trick, some use 2 pennies on each chip and some use 3, you would need to experiment which will work best for you. How many washers are you using when doing the xclamp fix?

i just did it there i used 2 pennys but not tried the xbox yet as my bro is hooked on the prototype just now and he is useing the power cable lol when you do the penny trick if the red lights come on do i let it over heat i use 1 metal and 1 plastic each side of the screw

Yes you still need to let it over heat after penny trick, about 20mins should do, as for washers doing xclamp that is same amount as i use! Did you cover the pennies in insulation tape?

yes made sure it as all sealed a stuck the xbox on and as green strait away but only lasted 5 mins max then froze turn it of and when i turned it back on red lights i will let it over heat and see if this helps

When you over heat are you taking your fans out? also once over heated let it cool down for atleast 30mins!

yes and no i sit the fan on the dvd drive so the fan keeps the CPU cool and the GPU overheats it stops the 2 red lights coming on b4 its had long enough to bake

Thats correct, like i said make sure you let it cool down before starting as the solder joints need to cool properly!!

i think the xbox is taking the piss keeps going green for like 5 mins think im sorted the freezes and goes red again im calling it a night on it b4 i smash it up and get a ps3 lol
