Azureus was great. When it became Vuze it started to suck. That's when I switched to uTorrent. If they had just kept being a great torrent client and stopped trying to be iTunes, I'd still be using Vuze.

The official bittorrent client was gobbling up nearly a gig of system memory. uTorrent has a really small memory footprint and is easy to use.

I entirely agree. I had been using uTorrent for a while then I was going to tray Azureus but when I went to try it Vuze had come out and it was a horrible iTunes/Napster/MSN bullcrap bastard hybrid.
Of course, real men use Transmission... :D

I used Azureus before for some of my torrent download but when I learned about uTorrent I stick to it since then due to its simplicity.

I abandoned the original BT client for uTorrent long time ago. I just love how small it is and still works perfectly. I think Transmission's market share will grow now that has been ported to Windows. Let's wait and see.

My first client was Azureus. When my buddy told me uTorrent used a lot less ram, I tried it out and stuck to it. Went to try Vuze and absolutely HATED it. They ruined a good client.

”Torrent (a.k.a. uTorrent) is definitely the client of choice.
I used Azureus back when I got into BT but quickly switched to ”Torrent when it became available. The extremely small memory and CPU usage makes it a dream for torrenting while doing other things on the computer.
Peace

uTorrent has a very good optimation tool. Let's face it, for novices getting the port forwarded can be a bit tricky. uTorrent solves this problem very well.
When I first got into torrents uTorrent was the only one I could get to work well.
So I stick with it.

You can go back to the Azureus interface in Vuze for people that may want to go back (I know you all do). It's Tools-> Options-> Interface-> Start-> Display Vuze UI Chooser-> Show Button and you choose older UI. Oddly I found this while running the un-instlled quiz where one option was "Too hard to find old interface".

Vuze uses way too much system resources. So i switched it's crappy now.
Utorrent is way better. Just as fast dls with less strain on you system.

Indeed, its just filled with so much unnessary crap that ontop of the fact that I'll never use them they constantly get in the way. I'm going to switch to utorrent soon.

The reason why i think that utorrent is leading is due to the fact that its also a small resource taking program and its great but does have its draw backs.
it can be difficult to set up and settings for the user due to the fact that most of the time the ports are blocked and in which caps the speed of the download speed.
just my 2cents worth.

Isn't the newest official bittorrent client based on uTorrent code? But anyway, my choice is also uTorrent. I also used Azureus ages ago, and it hogged memory like nothing else on my computer...
