Hi, I'm a complete noob with this playing backups hrough the backup channel and using the 002 fix through HBC. I have loaded my backup of grandslam tennis so i must have done it all correctly! But want to know what dangers i have of bricking my wii through playing backups? What do i need to look out for to avoid it?

The main thing you need to look out for are the updates from out of region games.

If you download a PAL game and you have a NTSC system. and it askes you to updates. If you click yes, chances are ...yes you will soft brick your Wii.

Best way to avoid this? Download games that ARE in your region. If you MUST download a out of region game Protect your self

1) Download Wiu 1.1 http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=90892 ( go down a bit for the 1.1 verson)
2) load the iso
3) patch the update
4)and the update is remove

OR

1)Download Preloader, http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader
2)Put it on your wii
and turn off the Wii and turn it on and press reset the same time
3)enable skip system updates
4) save
