ive got a 360 xtractor an spear and went to do a liteon and my pc wont pick up the usb like it normally does, so i buy a serial cable and try it and it comes back serial data bad,it still powers and ejects the drive but it wont xtract the firmware.
any ideas

what version of windows? Have you installed the Maximus USB drivers?

Do yuou USB ports work fine for other devices?

yes they have been installed for months even if they weren't it would still pop up and say unknown hardware
windows xp pro sp3
usb ports work fine

xtractor was broke , apparently i plugged in the serial and usb cable at the same time.made one and flashed no problem
