I was stupid and deleted the cios60 from the Wii. Of course it is dead now. Can I just buy a Wii motherboard and fix this problem or is it completely dead?

Did you install BootMii or PreLoader before this happened? If so, then you can probably run WadManager and re-install the IOS you deleted.

I cant even get to any of the channels more or less the homebrew channel. WhenI start the Wii it goes to a black screen and nothing happens.

BootMii installed as boot2 would have allowed you to run HBC.

How would I know if it was installed as boot 2?

If you modded this Wii, and you never came across BootMii, then you don't have it. More info here: http://bootmii.org/faq.

If someone else modded your Wii, look at the SD card to see if you can find a folder named "bootmii". Inside it, you will find a config file name "bootmii.ini". Find a line that contains the word "AUTOBOOT". If that line is commented out with a "#" at the beginning, remove that "#" and start the Wii. If you have BootMii installed as boot2, you will see a menu you've never seen before.

Would it be possible to just get a bootmii.ini file, put it on the SD, then take the # off then try it?

You cannot just do that. It won't work. Who modded your Wii?

If you didn't install BootMii then, there's no way you can do it now.

Go to http://bootmii.org/download/ and download it again, put it on the SD card (as directed) and put the SD card in the Wii and start it up. If Bootmii doesn't load, then you didn't install it as boot2...

The files (that bootmii folder) that bootmii puts on the SD card when it installs is what would make bootmii come up at launch. The initial download doesn't do that.

It's alright to get these bootmii files from someone else.
