'For ever' for ever is a long time, less than 2 years is not for ever. Where did you hear that there will never be a fix? From some of the same dealers who are flogging sv4s no doubt.
and what's with the caps, thats called 'shouting ' on these fourms. Relax we're only pointing out the downside to buying a Starview.

'from the makers' That would be starview. I take it they are not giving the boxes away so therefore they are the sellers. No support for the older products = more sales for the new ones.

Beware anybody thinking of buying a Starview no support!

i think its time someone like "sunrise" came out and sorted a fix for the older starviews...if he can do it,maybe there's some clever spark out there who could also do it....the distributors of the older starviews have the new starviews to sell,so they wont be bringing out a fix...it may prevent many from not purchasing any starviews but their order books are full,so they wont be complaining...i figure if their i gonna be a fix,its gona be after nag 3 is fully introduced in ireland..on a peronal level,i dont recall other manufacturers bringing out a fix immediately!so,the eurovox's,ddigtals, digivox's etc are all in the same boat....i myself have a starview 3..its a cool easy to use box,and can taken a hell of a battering...i wl be sad to see its demise..

well said, by not bringing out a fix there boxes are gettin a bad name, the only box anyone new to this wud buy is a kryptview, when starview gets mentioned now its a negative response, even with the sv4, i cant see why someone connected with starview cant just come out and say they cant be fixed for whatever reason then this story wud die and everyone wud move on!
