I've been trying to do as much research on the wii softmod as possible and the more I read the more confused I get. I'm thinking of following this guide

I currently have firmware 4.0 with no current mods. My questions are:
1. If I have 4.0 is the softmod downgrading to 3.4?
2. If I do softmod can I perform and future wii updates?
3. What are wads?
4. What is bannerbomb?
5. What is IOS35?
6. What is cIOS36?
7. If I do the softmod can it be undone?, How?

3. What are wads? think of them like EXE for windows

4. What is bannerbomb? lets say an exploiter
