Color problem after updating to 4.0 (reds/greens)

I have a modded US wii and I just updated to 4.0 using punchout (as I was going to follow Larry's new guide to soft mod).

Decided to try out a few new games before I proceeded... they all work fine but the colors are all messed up, especially he reds and greens. I checked the TV and everything is fine, so I know it's the Wii. I then updated using wifi and still the same.

I tried lots of different games and I'm getting the same problem.
Has anybody else had this happen? Any way to fix this?

Perhaps you should complete the guide rather than stopping in the middle of it.
