ok guys, so i figured out that the version of RE:Archives that i downloaded was a Pal version and im sporting a softmodded NTSC-U Wii. also figured out that the black and white screen i get when firing it up is because of the different region right?

well i've tried to force NTSC and when i do that using backup launcher, i end up with a green screen!!?? ghostbusters used to do that to me but i used the neogamma to get around the green screen and boot lock (safety screen).

is it a bad burn? (burning using disk utility on an apple ibook g4)
im using verbatims dvd-r and burning slowly like everyone has mentioned...

is it just a bad iso? any feedback will help. thanks in advance!

HELP! LOL!

A Green Screen means wrong region game for your Wii.

Try the following on Neogamma.(Im using Neogamma V4)

-Region Options (Go down using D pad) and (Press A)
Boot Lang: Auto force (Use remote D pad)
Force Video Wii
Patch Video All
VIDTV yes
Patch Country Str: Yes

Then return to menu (Press A)

Go up to Launch Game on DVD (Press A)

This is how I got Let's Tap PAL running on my NTSC Wii.

1) Backup Launcher is old. Neogamma is new http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158884
1A) to get the Neogamma Channel http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=165485
2) Superdump (Requires homebrew) dump your game in 30 minutes. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/780900
3) Make your Wii skip updates! Use preloader 0.29 and enable skip updates. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader
4) Scared of Bricking your Wii? Make an NAND backup! Install BootMii http://bootmii.org/install/

i used larrylje guides to softmod and get the backups to work through the wii disc channel as well... like i said, ghostbusters worked, but RE archives didnt...

i'll just download NTSC from now on... it frustrates me since i thought i would be able to play PAL games...

you are i know this sounds wierd but sometimes i have to do a disc swap in the launcher....i will put in a ntsc game get it to spin then swap....it is tricky...it is supposed to work by just forcing it though....there are also apps you can try running on the iso itself....but me personally i do it like you say and make sure to get nstc...there is all some region changer apps and some users report better luck when there have mod chips and region forcing...

though at times there are games you just want to play even though they are pal i can tell you the softmodding thing works good for that....point of my video here....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7boagLr5Uo

check out the super rare pal game Doshin the Giant...i am playing this in the vid on a chipless wii thx to soft mod then a disc swap and force ntsc....

I have the same problem with Resident Evil and Ghostbuster... I am downloading other copies of resident evil archives to see if it will work. This is the first time I get this... all my other games works perfectly with Gamma launcher

Make sure #002 is enabled also.

I know Ghost Busters gave me a green screen if #002 was not enabled.

I downloaded an NTSC version and the same thing is happening to me. Looks like Resident Evil is the great mystery. Is there anything that can be done with a Wii scrubber which is used to get Wii Sports Resort to work?

get the latest cIOS38_rev14 installed.
ensure you are using USB loader GX rev682 or higher

in usb loader, ensure all game settings are setup like this:

Video Mode: Force NTSC
VIDTV Patch: On
Game Language Console Default
Patch Country Strins: On
Ocarina: off (unless you use cheats...)
Boot/Standard: 249 (games with peripherals like rockband are manually set to 222, but you need hermes cios 222/223 installed for instrument support if you do that)
Quick Boot: No
Error 002 fix: Yes

If you have the NTSC version of the game and an NTSC system all you need to enable is the #002 fix.

You will also need to enable the alt_dol for the first time and use an alt_dol to view the Motion+ video.

As I said before there are previous threads that tell you how to get the alt_dol and use it.

I hate to say this, but it seems like your only other option is to obtain the NTSC release. I've heard a lot of people who had success booting the game with no hiccups. Unfortunately, I possess neither so I can't experiment on it.
