hi there,
2.80 has just been released but im still able to sign into playstation network & play online.
i swear you have to update to be able to play online or at least bypass it but i havent done nether,
is any1 else able to do this?

This update was released last week. It's not a mandatory update so you don't have to have it to play online.

i had the same problem, before updating i couldent sign in, neither to PSstore or to Home, i could see web pages tho, and it wasnt saying that an update is needed just an error code, but after the 2.80 every came back to normal, dunno why only my 60gb had this issue, the 40gb worked fine. My Region is EU.

I don't understand why they would make an update to patch up a hole in remote play, and then make the update non-mandatory. Something just doesn't sound right..
