I've ran a backed up copy of Rock Band Two NTSC on my Pal wii that has been softmodded with firmware 4.0. After realising that the usb didn't work I went back to playing other pal games, however most of the games would load but then will freeze up after about a minute and would have to hold the power button down to turn the wii off.

Sorry I'm pretty new at this so I hope this information helps:

CIOS36rev13
Ios36-64-v3610
I used backup Launcer 0.3 RegionFrii
ran WiiBrickBloker on iso before using imgburn.

So my question is, have I semi-bricked my wii? and is there a fix?

Thanks

I had a similar issue with a hard drive that powered from USB i changed to a better hard drive and all freezing issues stopped. Perhaps try a different drive if you can...

There is a list of compatable drives around somewhere im sure one of the others will post a link as i cant find it..

try burning the copies onto a DVD-R (slowly) and running backup launcher or neogamma (from the HBC).

select boot from DVD...worse comes to worse you'll play select backups from dvds.

if that doesnt work then its possible its a bad iso? can anyone confirm?

HELP! LOL!

Still no good. Has anyone else got the same problem running backed up games off disc after running the other region games?

is the game freezing up at the safety strap screen (boot screen)?

if it is...load it with neogamma and when your tv screen flickers, press the eject button.

it will then ask you to insert the game disc back in...once done you should get past the boot screen.

this worked for me when using a copy of Ghostbusters!

HELP! LOL!

its doing it a random times in the game, in most cases just past the main menu of the game. I've read on other forums it could be a corrupt save game file. So I'm off to try it out.

omg.... i fixed it. I decided to uninstall all the backup launchers. After that I removed all the saved games and reinstall CIOS36rev13 and Ios36-64-v3610 and used wad manager to install neogamma r4 and backup launcher 0.3 and it worked. The only thing is that it still freezes with backup launcher 0.3 so that got uninstalled and now running neogamma r4.

And then the whole family decided to destroy the RB2 disc and never speak of it again.

Thanks heaps for the help guys. Now I can get some sleep/play wii all night to catch up for the last few days.

alright back again with the same bad news. It seem to work for one night but when I tried it today the same problem came up but with neogamma. The other options that I can try is to update the wii software with more up to date game or with a mod chip. Will the wii mod chip work the same way as the xbox mod chips where i can remove and reinstall the software from scrach?

alright after what seems to be endless searching over the net for answers I now decided to load the games from a external hard drive. I got my trusty western digital and went to work and isntall WBGS manager and USB loader GX and copied the two iso's over and they seem to work fine. But the other sulutions seem to work fine for a few hours and then freeze. Will report back when the kids take it for testing tomorrow.

The problem with any Gutar game on a backup DVD is this

The Wii reads 6x
The backup reads 3x

So that means in time of the music you will run into some lagging (unless you pause in the middle of the song and replay which is a huge pain) Only way so far to fix this is to run the game in a USB drive. Where it reads at least 10x

1) Backup Launcher is old. Neogamma is new http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158884
1A) to get the Neogamma Channel http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=165485
2) Superdump (Requires homebrew) dump your game in 30 minutes. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/780900
3) Make your Wii skip updates! Use preloader 0.29 and enable skip updates. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader
4) Scared of Bricking your Wii? Make an NAND backup! Install BootMii http://bootmii.org/install/

I tried need for speed undercover and it seems to load and play fine. Still able to rip a game and play it but it seems like mario party 8 won't work. It is a backup of the orginal and it still freezes about a minute into the game. Anyone have any idea's?

Make sure you up-to-date with the latest cIOS. Also make sure the ISO is not corrupt. Everything should work fine.
