every time i try to read the f/w, the computer freezes, any ideas?

Need way more info than that. Are you using an onboard SATA or a VIA Card? What type of drive are you trying to flash? What OS are you using? Do you have PortIO32 installed?

That's why I still use DosFlash32 and never have any issues with it. I hate Jungleflasher.

jungleflasher has always worked amazing for me. Never had any issues. I've used iprep sometimes, but almost always just jungleflasher.

Anyways, as stated, we need a little more info to help you with your issue.

onboard sata, trying to flash a samsung 28, using xp, and yes the portio32 is installed

If you use DosFlash32 you don't need PortIO32 installed. PM me your email address and I will walk you though the process(don't list email address here).
