hi all recently got a new card from nthell and before they send me out that card i had downgraded my package cancelling all the sports setant and sly got the new card but only came back from holidays a week or so after the card had been sent out got a text when i turned on the phone too put the card in the box and i still had my sports and espn and setant well whats left of it in waterford ,so i rang them up to enquire bout how much it would cost on top of my montly bill to get ppvs and other bull and she told me on top of the basic package i have it would be such amount so im getting sports free now and only payin 4 basic package .how come they dont know and will they descover somewhere down theline what will i do was just bout to get sv 4 help help help

hi sharon before you get a starview 4 if your on ntl you need to know that most channels are gone now and soon all channels(as soon as all their customers have new cards)there is no fix.ppv is an pay extra service(you pay when you want to view an event)you dont pay monthly.if your looking for sports for the premiership football(setanta wont have it)it will be on espn america.your basic tv plus the sky sports channels should cost about ?40 a month give or take the odd euro(include espn around the ?50 a month area)espn will have to recoup the mega millions they spent buying the premiership games and so their prices will rise i would have thought so ntl will need to wait and see what the price will be from espn.if they let you pay now at the rate it is now most likely they lose money,you say you downgraded to the basic channels but now have sports free(has ntl given you the sports free for a few months trial in the hopes of hooking you back in to buying the sports channels)if you have them free for a few months and then dont want them be sure to ring before the free period is up as you will be charged the full amount ,after the free period is up dont wait for them to switch them off as they wont.i hope i understood your post correctly and that i helped in some way.

All channels are still available on SV4 in Ireland(NTL)!

maybe i didnt make myself clear im on a basic package they told me when i rang up,they dont know i have sly sports or esppn or whats left of the setant s in waterford ,im wondering how long i can go with these channels withouit being descovered since i canncelled them before i got my new card

just like cathaldub said above the starview usb is back working in ireland, and there are about 3 other boxes that are working every chanells there, but nobody knows how long they will last,
so if you are thinking about getting a box get 1 asap so you'll get the most out of it while it lasts, dont think about when they'll go off worry about that when it happens if you decide to get a box,
just remember at the end of the day its your money your risk and dont let anybody make a choice for you.
also dont ring up and ask if it is a trial on the rest of your chanells just keep an eye on your bill when ir if your charged ring up and ask for a refund as you cancelled them and they have no right to charge you

they will never find out. i have it 4 years.there silly f..kers in ntl.just keep its to your self.its just a matter of a fix out side your house with the cable.get your new card chiped....get it all 4 free like me :)

Just get a box(SV4, DIGIVOX USB, Kryptview, etc), alot cheaper, easier and can be setup/fixed yourself. knowones even sure if there is nagra2 cards working on NTL Ireland or its just a rumour, although i'm sure there is. also no one can tell you for how long any of the current solutions will work, so cheapest option is the best.
