wii will not spin discs after opening console

Allright, so I opened my console to take out my modchip, was going to softmod and sell my my modchip to friend. Anyway, I took it out, proceeded to put wii back together.
There was no power at all to my drive. Finally realized that my ribbon had come loose, put it back in, now the drive will power up and accept, eject discs but it will not spin them up.
I also cleaned the laser why I had my wii open. Does anyone know what else I could have done to cause this. Anyway to fix it.
Also, I get no power to the drive if I put the modchip back on. Did I blow a fuse or what?

well since it was open something may be loose...may be good idea to see if you can get pics of another wii like a dissassembly and look at urs....

to my knowledge on a dvd rom drive there is a laser/eye and a motor spindle motor spins causing the sound ur missing while the lazer reads the data to the wii....it sounds like that spindle is either...

a. off track (misaligned or knocked off alignment from when it was opened i fix alot of 360 drives with that issue though never opened a wii...)
b. without power (knocked off some sort of ribbon cable from either the logic board of rom drive or rom drive not connected to wii itself....)

these are my hunches....

look at another one disconnect reconnect match up hope it helps....it is extremely wierd that putting the chip on deads the drive....but i would remove the chip from the equation...(lol who needs one nwayz i know i dont) if ur funding permits best possible thing is to like buy another wii and connect it's drive to urs...though i am unsure if wii's allow for this...then i would just swap...refund pls...lol
