firstly please forgive me if this has already been asked but i have had a search and not finding what im after.
i softmodded my wii using a guide i found on a torrent site i use, this was of course before i found the great guide here. and am now finding that many games will not play on my system when booting from dvd but will when i use usb loader gx.
so basically i have 3 questions
1. is it possible to totally remove a softmod and return the wii system to factory defaults so i can do the softmod using the guide off this site?
2. im havin a problem with usb loader gx where by whenever the channel detects my drive the screen goes black and has white writting on it says something about memory dump... i have re-formatted my usb drive and have re-installed usb loader gx and it works. it apears to be the latest version that has this version? can anyone confirm this?
3. softmod or modchip? i have a d2pro will this work ok with wii software 4.0

I would suggest backing up all your saves to a SD, reformatting your Wii, updating to 4.0 using the official Nintendo update, and following the guide on http://www.softmii.org
As for the modchip question, yes, it will work with FW 4.0 I have a D2Pro9 V3 myself and it works fine with 4.0

so by just resetting the wii to factory settings will remove all traces of softmod and i can just repeat the process of softmodding using the guide u suggested? i was under the impression resetting in that way COULD brick the system
