Wiikey allows limited other region support. There is a 50/50 chance it will work, and if it doesn't it is as easy as using Gecko OS to boot it.

Yes, but you run a risk of soft bricking your Wii though it's updates. Updating a Wii with out of region games is a HUGE no no.

1) Backup Launcher is old. Neogamma is new http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158884
1A) to get the Neogamma Channel http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=165485
2) Superdump (Requires homebrew) dump your game in 30 minutes. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/780900
3) Make your Wii skip updates! Use preloader 0.29 and enable skip updates. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader
4) Scared of Bricking your Wii? Make an NAND backup! Install BootMii http://bootmii.org/install/

yes most of my NTSC-U games work on my NTSC-J wii except for the newer games as i heard there was somthing with not having japanese coding but whatever i dunnos.

well back to the subject...yes it will work on on older backups but now newer games do not unless you softmod your wii and launch it with backuplaunchers like gamma and gecko os then your able to play the newer games. currently all my backups work with no problem new or old...shoot i don't even need my wiikey chip anymore

I've also heard people change their whole 4.0j system to a 4.0U system with regionchanger but please read up about this before attempting and take all the safe measures in doing this.another note is when you change your region on the system, you also have change your wiikey setting to U.S region.

well i'm done yapping...just wanted you to be informed

Thanks for the replies guys. I just softmodded my Wii and tried to load a backup NTSC-U Punch Out using the Backup Launcher but it just gave me a black screen and when I try The Conduit, it gives me an error that says "Japanese bad disc- not localized" like a minute into the game.

try launching it with neogammaR4

with these settings:
Under "config options", make sure "anti 002 fix" and "save config" are set to YES. Under "region options" set the following...

Boot Lang: Auto Force
Force Video: Wii
Patch Video: All
VIDTV Patch: No
Patch County Str: Yes

Then hit "launch game on DVD".

Hi guys!
I was looking for the error I get for the conduit on google, and that's the only topic I found for my "Japanese bad disc- not localized" error...
I tried what you said wiishu, using NeogammaR7... But now I get a "the game disc could not be read. Refer to the Wii Operations Manual for details".

Any other suggestions? Or did you find a way cw10?

Thx!

PS: I have a Japanese Wii in 4.1 J (Downloaded update, not from games), Homebrew channel of course, and a dc2key chip.
