I asked this question in the softmod guide, and the only response I got was that MGS would allow me to save my game before switching to disc 2, then I could just boot disc 2 the same as disc 1. However, I got the point where I need to switch games, it didn't ask me to save, and every time I insert disc 2, I get an error message. I know disc 2 is fine because I can boot it and play a new game (until the part where it asks you to switch to disc 1) just fine, but I just can't seem to swap discs. I've tried holding B and Z to get it to work, but no dice.
I'm also wondering just which version of the Gamecube backup launcher is installed following the softmod guide here. It says 1.1 on the configuration screen, but I'm assuming that it's actually 0.1 theta? If so, do I need to update to 0.1 Xi or 0.2 to get multi-disc support? Thanks in advance.
Also, I wasn't sure whether to put this in the Wii section or the Gamecube section, but the Gamecube section didn't make much sense since the loading software is completely different. Feel free to move, however.
u got it bro though i am not at that point myself this was a specific change to 0.2 this is from the read me...
"When you have both discs of a game burned within one multigame ISO image, you can switch the disc by ejecting and reinserting the disc. But
you need first to select the second disc with button Z on the startup
screen (green GC logo). This is only working if you started the game with
the B button."
and my version does say 0.2 then again i still have not gotten to the same point as you....
Well, I have two separate physical discs, not just both discs on a multigame iso. But I was wondering how multigame isos work with this launcher as well.
Hi mate really happy to know that its not just me that wants to play metal gear on my wii. First of all i know im in the wrong place but havent been on here for a while and not up to date with every thing im using homebrew on my wii with neogammer4 whitch i just found and it work fine for my wii games. But im having alot of problems trying to play gamecube games at the mo so if any one can help id be real gratefull. Ive tryed alot of wads to do with the GC LAUNCHERS and nothing seems to work for me im on firmware 3.2e if anyone can help id be so happy.
p.s. what metal gear like never play the twinsnakes and im a big fan to.
