i read several threads on this site and posted one of my own about removing softmod from my wii... several threads said to format wii memory then update...

i did this but now my wii is stuck in preloader :( i cannot access system menu or homebrew channel now thru preloader

any ideas?

Hook up a GC Controller and then use it to return to the system menu. Re-sync wii controllers, Change preloader's settings so that it instead loads the system menu on boot, if you need to acess it while turning on your wii you can always hold reset while it boots the system menu to boot preloader instead.

ok so ive got my wii to finally boot woo hoo

im trying to softmod again using the guide on this site now but cannot get homebrew to install... pretty much hackmii just tells me it cant install and to exit

help me :)

no it is not virgin 4.0 i had it softmodded but dont think the guide i had was very good so i did a system reset from the wii menu (recommended by a memever of this site) so now when i try to install bootmii to start the process again it says it cannot install homebrew etc as there is no exploitable ios or somethin like that

any ideas?

is there a way i can just virginise the system totally?

A system format doesn't remove everything. If I wanted to virginize my system I would manually remove the stuff that the system format doesn't do anything to. I would remove bootleg IOSes like IOS16, 249 etc and then get the legit IOS upgraded to the latest version.

But to get the hackmii installer to work I would at least try IOS downgrader first.

You don't have Cioscorp right?

thanks mate, I'll do some reading on the ios downgrading see if I can do that thru preloader as that all I seem to have at the moment

no I don't have cioscorp at. Least I don't think I do. All I have at the moment is preloader and the normal wii screen with mii chanell disc channel etc
