Hey guys, I have a Plextor PX-750A dvd burner. Ive had it for prolly 3 years, maybe more. Its burned a shitload of 360 games and, until recently, I've only had one or 2 coasters ( damn you tomb raider underworld....) But out of nowhere it made like 5 coasters in a row ( 3 were trying to burn prototype and 2 were trying to burn call of juarez)
I use verbatim 2.4x disks and usually burn at 2.4 or 2x with imgburn. Will all the recent coasters I've made it said " Unable to finalize disk" at the end.
I have an Ixtreme 1.4 or 1.5 flashed drive so I have to patch them for the wave 3 with v14-15.ppf. I haven't burned as many games successfully now that I have to patch them...... but I supposed that could just be the burner getting old too?
before the coasters Id did burn bionic commando successfully ( havent played it all the way through tho, could still be messed up)
Anyway, what do you guys think this is? is it time to get a new burner? if so, what kind would you recommend? any help you guys could give would be great :D
You are using good media so that definitely isn't the issue. Unless maybe it is a bad batch of Verbatims but I doubt that. If you keep getting coasters, I would replace the burner. You can get a great burner for 25$. I got a Samsung SH-S223Q (SB-03) DVD burner and it works awesome. No coasters or dirty disc errors.

I dunno, I patched and burned bionic commando and the riddcik game, and both have been playing fine. :(

Na, 1.51 plays wave 3 games just fine without patching. 1.6 just has 0800 support (ripping) and a few other security features. I have it on one of my xbox.
