My PC recently broke down and I have been forced to make backups of my 360 games on my macbookpro laptop. I am using abgx360gui to make sure everything is patched alright, and then I have been attempting to use "XBOX 360 iso hacker" and "OSX360" to burn the backups to Verbatim disks (dl)

I am very familiar with backing up with the PC but it is broken and unfortunately I don't have the money to get it fixed at the moment, so my mac is my only alternative at the moment. And I seem to be burning nothing but coasters that actually load up in my macbookpro's dvd reader and XBOX 360 like DVD's. It loads right to the XBOX360 load screen, and then behaves like I put a dvd disk in the system from there.

I am very familiar with layer breaks, and all the correct settings on both programs (although I am missing imageburn a lot right now!) I use to be able to change the book settings with my external samsung burner in the past with my PC. But is not working at all with my mac or allowing me to change that booktype

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the booktype in these programs or if they do it automatically? This seems like there could be a very simple solution that I am missing, but if anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it

Thanks

thanks for the quick response, I have been doing some crazy research the last few days. Although I am just stumbling across the info about the "waves" of games that are being released. I honestly don't fully understand it yet, but the two backups I recently performed where for two very new games, I would assume they would have been from the latest wave and might be part of my mac issue

What games do not work? All new games are wave 3. Wave 3 games require ixtreme 1.51+ to work.

UFC and Ghostbusters, when they load in the 36o they both load up as "Play DVD"

I haven't updated my flash in about 10 months, I don't do it myself, a local guy does it for me. Do you know if there is anyway to find out what version you are running? And would this be the origin of my "playDVD" issue possibly?

thanks for your time btw

If you had it flashed 10 months ago then it is not iXtreme 1.51 or 1.6. You will need to update it.

Well first off, you definitely need the newest firmware. I would recommend that. But as for the burning and ripping on a mac, you can do it. I know, because that is what I have been using until about a month ago.

I had installed VMware Fusion on my macbook pro, and then had windows xp running in a VM. I basically had my kreon drive attached via USB to the macbook. I would then rip my games, check it with abgx in the vm, and then burn it with imgburn.

Just do that setup and it will work fine.

that's awesome, thanks for both responses. I am going to try to schedule a flash update for later this afternoon, and I will definitely try to hunt down a copy of VMware Fusion now, did you have to get an external burner for your mac or did you use the stock one in your system?
