I am currently using this method to rip my wii games, will this cause a strain on the laser or is the same as just playing them for the ammout of time it takes to rip the game?

The only thing that will hurt your laser is using DVD+R discs. (I believe) I use a hard drive and thats where i backup my games and i use USB LOADER GX to rip the games on the hard drive.

I use Superdump 1.2, it only takes half an hour. (faster the dump less the strain on the Wii)
