hi
i have a really newbie question so be easy on me.
okay, i purchased a modded xbox 360. i would like to know if i can play it online. because when i try to recover my gamertag the xbox says would you like to upgrade, can i do this. if i upgrade will it erase the firmware mod.

No the update wont over write the firmware. Would suggest you either find out what firmware version is on it or check for yourself to make sure you wont get banned.

best way is to hook up the drive to your PC and use jungle flasher to read the firmware version off the drive.

you would be best to ask the one you bought it from, the reason i say this is if you didnt have IT, the "it" being the ability or confidence to mod the xbox your self you wont have IT when you go to read it.
