i love my ps3 games. in fact, one of the ones that i love the most is inFAMOUS. but it keeps freezing. and when it doesnt freeze, the audio will die on me. its not an hdmi prob because it only happens on this game usually.
but it freezes alot on COD4 and COD: WAW. its so annoying.

I seem to be having the same problem with my PS3. My model is CECHE01 and i have 2.80 firmware. The problem is it freezes when i am playing COD 5. I tried everything.
What happens is the video stays still and the audio repeats like a broken record. The disc keeps spinning and wont respond to controller.
Could it be a problem with the CPU/GPU?
I dont want to reflow the chips since other games (ie MGS4) works no problem. Movies work, HDD works, everything works but COD5! (havent tried Infamous though)
My guess is there is something weak in the Blu-Ray drive, and CoD5 requires alot of disc reading, and jumping from sector to sector on the Bluray disc. I figure the laser moves so much that the movement motor gives up. This is primarily the fault of the game maker for not making the game installable on your HDD.
mine has done this several times, as has my mates, but the guy in game said "it happens" so dont worry about it. only happens about once every 4 or 5 weeks.
