Hi,
I used to have wii v3.4 and it was Twilight-hacked and I had HBC installed
Now I accidentally upgraded to v4.0
I noticed that I could downgrade it because I have HBC installed
But some people are saying that "IF YOU HAVE A WII SERIAL THAT STARTS WITH LU64 OR LU65 THEN DO NOT FOLLOW THIS GUIDE! WHEN A HACK BECOMES AVAILABLE FOR THOSE SYSTEMS I WILL UPDATE THE GUIDE WITH THE INFORMATION".
My wii serial number is LJF148233841
I googled it, and I found out that my wii is on Japanese region
But the guy at the store that sold me the wii told me that it is modchipped with the US region, so my wii is on V4.0U
Would I be able to downgrade even though I have HBC installed on my modchipped wii?
Please reply, thanks a lot...

In theory I suppose so. :/ Don't take my word for it though, it seems dodgey. If you have Waninkoko's cIOS installed, you will not loose your ability to install WADs or play backups, so if you do, I dont see why you would want to downgrade.
The cIOS I am referring to is this. If you havn't got this installed you may have a problem. If you arn't sure, try installing a channel through a WAD manager; if it works, your wii is in good shape. This means that everything will still be in working order; and you can downgrade if you wish.
If you can install channels, Use this to downgrade.
If you can't install channels, then it looks like your stuck with 4.0. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. You can still install a cIOS on 4.0 if you atleast have the Homebrew Channel installed; which you do, so fear not. Download this and extract it. Next, backup all current files on your SD card to a seperate file on your computer, and then erase them from your SD card. Put that file you downloaded on your SD card and Run CMDVDX34 using the Homebrew Channel. (Downgrade IOS35 and exit the application.) Next, install IOS35.wad using the WAD Mangager; if it fails, don't fret: It means it is already installed. Then, run Wad Manager (IOS35 Version) and install the CIOS7.wad file.
Your done!
If you get a "piracy" message, let me know; I will help you out. Hope this helped.

When I was trying to install My Pokemon Ranch.wad using wad manager v1.4, I got an error-ticket message.
Does this mean that I have to install CIOS?

I am on the installing IOS35.wad step right now and it looks like this
Available files on the device
-CIOS7.wad

When I pressed a on the IOS35.wad nothing happened
When I pressed home I returned to the HBC menu
It won't install IOS35, what should I do?

Thats odd. First, check to see if you can install that Pokemon game, and post your results.

No problem; but try one more thing:
Download this and place it in your WADs folder (after extracting). Then, download this and if the '.dol' file is not named to 'boot.dol', then rename it. (of course, after extracting). Place it in your apps folder in a new folder named wad managerios 16, and try to install the cIOS through that. If it still doesn't work, it sounds like you have most things working, and I'm glad I could help ;)

Hi Guys,
I am new in this forum and also new to soft modding my wii which is a v4.0u.
Recently, my friend and I attempted to run the ios35 downgrader. However, due to his oversight, he missed out the part whereby we need to run the installation with an internet connection. As a result, when we tried to run it the second time, the installation was not able to run as we were given the msg "maybe you installed before?"
As a result, another attempt was done and he tried used the any file deleter to remove the ois35 and as a result, it was shown as file missing.
Anyway to salvage my predicament that I am in now?
Or is there anyway to undo all the errors which me made along the way and reinstall the ios35 downgrader?
Thanks in advance and I would appreciate your kind guidance.
Cheers!
